NOTICE TO POTENTIAL CLASS MEMBERS - U.S. SETTLEMENT

You may have heard the news report today that Merck & Co. in the United States has announced a potential $4.85 billion settlement fund to settle thousands of lawsuits in the United States concerning VIOXX®.

We do not have any information yet as to the effect of this offer on the proposed Canadian Class Action. This action, as you know, is scheduled for a certification hearing early in the new year.

This offer is certainly a good sign for our claim, but we will have to await developments in the United States and Canada in order to know the full impact on our Canadian claims.
